The Otago Ski Club Lodge is open for summer!
All are welcome, including non-members, members, schools, families, large groups, clubs and everything in between.
Our open dates this summer are 1st Dec 2025 to 21st March 2026. We will open again for winter the day before the ski area opening day (predicted 13th June 2026).
The Otago Ski Club is a sports club for skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, hiker, paragliders and all outdoor enthusiasts. We have been operating in Otago since 1932 and have been running “Joel Lodge” since we built it in 1954!
Joel Lodge is situated at the top of Coronet Peak Road, a 5 minute walk from the bottom of Coronet Peak Ski Area and Bike Park. We offer what nowhere else in the Queenstown Lakes District can: affordable, peak-side accommodation with a picture frame view to wake up to!
Be first on the chair every day and rest in the knowledge that once you’re done, you have only a short distance to walk, ride or slide to your accommodation and aprés ski. Members of the club built our lodge, and it continues to be operated by the club and its members. Club members contribute to the upkeep and operation of the lodge by assisting with chores when they stay, helping with the maintenance of the lodge at work parties,
and/or serving on the committee.
The lodge’s facilities include accommodation, kitchen, lounge, dining room, bathrooms, washing and drying rooms, ski and bike storage, games room, and a repair room.
We’re a friendly, family-oriented club, and are always open to new guests or members. If you’re planning on spending some time in Queenstown – either in Winter or Summer, give us a try.
